What are your top 5 favorite movies of all time and why? [Please add context!!]
5.] RENT - Despite what was left out of the movie, I loved it. I'm very glad that they could get most of the original cast back for the movie. They all worked together great, even the new cast members, and they all have beautiful voices.
4.] Pirates of the Caribbean - I love both of the movies and am eagerly awaiting the third installment. I can still remember riding on the [old] PotC ride with my father at Disneyland, and watching the movie brings back those memories. Plus, Johnny Depp is GOD.
3.] Harry Potter - I lurrrve the books! The movies aren't as good as them, but of course they're going to loose some stuff when making a book into a movie. A lot of the actors are brilliant, too.
2.] Love Actually - Yup, a chick flick. I adore this movie to pieces. I actually only wanted to watch it because Alan Rickman is in it [I'm a huge Harry Potter fanatic, if you hadn't noticed], and when I saw it I fell in love with the whole movie. It shows that "love is actually all around" and not in just the sense of couple-relationships.
1.] Pride & Prejudice - A classic, and another chick flick. Though I haven't read Jane Austen's story of the same title, I loved the movie. It's the foundation of most modern romance movies. And the way that Mr. Darcy [Matthew Macfadyen] expressed his feelings toward Elizabeth Bennet [Keira Knightley] is how I can see Professor Severeus Snape from Harry Potter flirting with someone.. should he ever find love. XD
